i don't think alot of people will know what the best trumpet player is. i bet a few people might tell you who the the best trumpet might be though.

Maybe not best but my 3 personal favorites: Armstrong, Davis, Gillespie

Salt peanuts is a great song...

Probly Davis or Armstrong, just because they did more for the genre than anyone else really.... but Gillespie is amazing too...

My Favorites: Clark Terry, Dizzy, Freddie Hubbard, Lee Morgan, and Miles. Lately I've also enjoyed Russell Gunn, Terrell Stafford, and Nick Payton.
I don't really know if there is a best trumpeter, almost everyone that can be listed will have their good points.
